$4.20 a gallon? Really? Boy that sure is convenient timing with memorial weekend coming up and all.

Well with the market picking up like it is I will be staying home this weekend so I don't really have to worry about filling up my car and boat for the weekend, but I am thinking about what it's going to be like when i do.

And really is riding around in my boat really worth $50 for a few hours? It's just frustrating. I mean gas was under $1.50 when Bush took office. I understand the whole supply and demand but if we're the ones getting strapped and the oil companies keep making record profits, saying "well this helps us make it through the down cycles, and we have to research in new sources" Yeah right! They really don't want to sell oil and gas anymore. there basicly telling congress that regulating their indusrty will just make matters worse. The airlines are'nt regualated, how's that working out these days?

I do believe we will be using another source for fuel not too far down the road and I think they know it too so they are just trying to make as much as they can while they can.

Why are'nt our ellected officials doing anything? Can't we ease back on the ethanol for a few months to ease the refinery costs? Something, anything please.

I just needed to rant, thanks for playing along at home. I know I'm not alone on this.

Andrew, I feel your pain, my wife and I traded in our mini-vans for smaller much more fuel efficiant cars. We are doing everything we can think of to keep driving down to a minimum. Besides the gas and heating oil pinch, how's your wallet doing with food prices going up! Have you gone shopping lately! I'm spending an easy $200.00 more a month on food now, talk about getting a double punch.

I need a bike!  Yeah it is getting expensive and oil company profits are up.  Bring on alternative fuel.

Andrew and Christopher,

I agree.  Gas here in Virginia Beach at the station we always use has gone up 24 cents in the last week and a half..isn't that price gouging?  I thought price gouging was illegal.  And have you seen the price of milk and bread.  Milk at our Wal-mart is over $5 a gallon.  I feel so bad for those not so fortunate people making minimum wage or just a little over that.  Pretty soon they won't even make enough to drive to work  It's a sad sad situation.  I hope our next president does something about this.

Cheryl, if things don't change in the market it will be a lot of Realtors and Mortgage people having a hard time buying milk.
