It’s show time! I first want to say that it’s important to try to confirm every single showing request that comes in. In owner occupied homes, usually your Realtor will request showing agents give a full day’s notice, unless you are able to accommodate more short notice. Usually showing agents are pretty good with following the 24 hour request but, every once in a while, you’ll get a last minute showing request. Normally these happen when a buyer and their Realtor happen to be in the area showing other homes and decided to add your home last minute.
Speaking of short notice, we all understand that it’s sometimes physically impossible to accommodate a showing with only an hour’s notice. People have kids, animals that need to be secured, etc. However, it’s still in your best interest to do your best to accommodate them. After all, your home could have been the one they chose from the 4 other homes they saw that day. If they aren’t able to get in, they may end up offering on another property.
Life happens but just as a general rule of thumb, try to accommodate ALL showings, even the inconvenient ones.
