In my fashion-focused youth, a rule of thumb was that when you stood in front of the mirror and something screamed back at you, you needed to
remove it. It might have been that large necklace you added at the last minute or the color of the shoes you chose.
How something looks when we first see it can leave a lasting impression on us. It’s why we always take that final peek in the mirror before we go out the door, especially if it’s to an event or dinner out.
When you are readying your house to sell, keep this in mind. As a Home Stager, I’ve seen rooms where the seller needed to take a step back and take a good “look in the mirror!”
Some examples …
~If a little floral arrangement would add to a table, why not go all the way
~Filling the wall with photos
~Making sure that every inch of space has a chair in it
~Taking “adding a pop of color” too far
