I'm getting really good at making bad choices

Let me be clear. This isn’t about everything in life. Lately, I have noticed, that I am getting very good at picking the wrong lane when driving and this has been spilling over to my lane choices at the grocery store. Picture driving along in the far left lane expecting that you are going to be the fastest lane as it is supposed to be the passing lane. No, not when I am driving. I get in the far left lane and it decides to stop. I wait for a little while trying to be patient and can’t help but think there must be a car stalled or something in my lane up ahead because the other 2 lanes are moving just fine. I turn on my blinker and some nice person allows me to get over. About 2 seconds later, this lane will stop and the lane I just left will be moving along quite nicely. Grrr. Ok, I am going to just stay in the lane I pick the next time. (Yeah, right, that won’t happen.)

As I said this is also at the grocery store. I am going to pick the self checkout lane that has one person in it. I am sure this is the right way to go. WRONG!! The lady in front of me is on her phone and I finally realize is waiting on someone to come help her. She then is told that she will need to check out herself. I can clearly see that she is thoroughly confused. I decide right then, I am going to help her. Now, while I am a nice person, this was truthfully for my benefit. If she didn’t finish I would have to find a new line and possibly have a new problem to deal with. She was very thankful. I just kept seeing people who had gotten in line way after me walking to the door. I am glad I could help.

There are numerous occasions I can name that this has happened over the past month. I was really thinking about it on my drive into work today. I had decided that I was staying in the middle lane. That was all there was to it. I would just stay there and enjoy the ride. Well, wouldn’t you know it not long before I got to work I saw lights. Just stay in the middle lane. It will be off to the side. Guess what? It wasn’t. There was a wreck. Where? Middle lane. That is the only lane that was blocked off.

If you need help selling or buying a house, I’ve got that down pat. You want to know which lane you should ride in while driving? You may want to phone someone else until I get this bad decision making under control. Thank you and drive thru.

How about getting the USB into the port the first time? I usually get that wrong on first try.

Maybe the world is tryingto tell you to slow down, stay in the lane and just enjoy the ride.

Maybe?  Until the next time I'm in traffic, then...I'll change my mind.

I'm not the greatest at picking the best lane in traffic, or the grocery store either, Joel.  I'm convinced when I'm running a bad streak like that, I shouldn't buy lottery tickets.
