When it comes to upholstery, I can honestly say I have never before in my life hired a professional upholsterer. That's probably because I'm with the bulk of people who would throw out a worn sofa, for example, before re-upholstering it. Or, maybe I've just never really owned any nice furniture in my life because we have 3 cats. You can't have nice things when you are owned by cats.
A few years ago, when Tessa the tore the crap out of my mango vinyl bench, I tried very hard to view that experience as a lovely piece of art she has created. It kept me from wanting to kill her.
