Shame on ME!

My brother has mentioned a few times over the last couple of times that he may move out of State when he retires. Shame on Me for not telling him a few things about listing his home. My brother lives about 300 miles away so I did not expect him to list his place with me, BUT how stupid of me not to tell him about referrals! How stupid of me.. about $6,000.00 worth of STUPID! Before he listed his house (with a competing National Brokerage) I could have asked him who he wanted to list it with and let him know that if I tell that person that my brother was looking for an agent it would not cost him (my brother) anymore then it is costing him now plus he would be helping out his little brother to the tune of a $6,000.00 referral fee!

If you are an agent don't forget your relatives. If you are a relative of a Real Estate agent who lives far away be a hero and remind your loved one that he/she can recommend Joe/Jane to see you about listing your house. The relationship you save may be yours and that rich relative who might will all their money to you.

This has happened to me.  It only had to happen once before I started reminding my family what I do and how they can help.  Two referrals this year thus far!
