I've been thinking to myself - I wonder if my website will be able to reach heights of other non - point2 sites if proper care is taken in SEO and content? Do search engines favour them? It seems so.

My personal take as a "non techy" guy is that it is the content of the pages and the tags coresponding that page is what the search engines like. Good information like google maps and rich photos are helpful.

Does anyone have input as to whether or not point2 platforms have any limitations? I'd like to think not.

I would appreciate some feedback.

Paul,

I have had my point2 site on every page from nonexistent to number one, and I am just a standard member. Keep using the SEO techniques and you should be able to do the same. Good Luck!

Paul, I have my original website which I have had for the last 7 years and last year added an additional point 2 agent site.  Using the same techniques for SEO I have been able to get my point 2 site up fairly quick in the search engines.  So long story short I don't see any limitations with a Point 2 site.

I'm not too crazy about the home search features on Point 2 but I re-solved that by sending them over to my other site to be set up for automatic notification but that's a personal preferance on my part.

Paul, while text content IS important to Google, images and things like Google maps don't contribute much. I'm unsure whether your question about limitations pertains to SEO or what, exactly... As far as home search goes, I highly recommend that everyone use a good commercial IDX service iframed into a Point2 page. As far as SEO, I see no limitations. I have a client with two Point2 sites, each ranked #1, #2 or #3 for each of two "city state real estate" keyphrases (her main site sometimes swaps places with the local Board of REALTORs(r) site). Collectively, her two Point2 sites get about 150-200 unique visitors per day and generate tons of leads.

I have two different Point2 design clients sharing space on page 1 for the same keyphrase

As a designer, I have a short list of annoying things that I have to work around all the time, but few people other than me would even be aware of these factors.

In my opinion, probably the biggest problem with a Point2 site or with any other real estate vendors' sites is that agents think that they will start to get leads as soon as they subscribe to their sites and without putting any additional effort into them. But I know that you know better than that!

Paul I have a point2 site and I am very pleased with it. Like Suzanne says with SEO it is about the effort you put into it.

Hi Paul. I have a P2 site and am very pleased with it. Right now I have the standard level and get 1 to 2 new leads from it everyday. I'm looking to upgrade to the professional level here soon.

Paul-  I have a Point2 site.  If you Google "Westport Real Estate", I come up #3 on page 1.  All I've done is replaced the "canned" blurbs with original content, using whatever simple, SEO techniques, I could incorporate.

Add your own pictures and words.  You should do fine.

Paul- I have a Point2 site as well. If you're working on your site no matter who is the provider you will see some benefits. Too many of us throw together a site and forget about it and then wonder what is happening. Remember it will take work but you will be rewarded for the work too.

Best,

Scott

I have been with point 2 for almost 2 years. I do not see any limitations as far as the SEO is concerned. You have to work at it.

Paul - have to jump on the bandwagon - I agree, no limitations to a Point 2 site. I think it's well worth the money and is probably better than any other site you could find. Basic SEO will take you far.
