We woke up to a beautiful sunny day. As I am writing this post it is 65 degrees Fahrenheit, and we are anticipating a high of 71, today. Given that it is a holiday weekend, we were anticipating a busy Farmers Market with tourists in town. However, that was not the case.We loved the three color versions of cauliflower pictured above.
This lettuce arrangement was lovely, we hated to disturb it to grab a couple of heads.
These sweet red onions were shining in today's sunshine.
Early girl tomatoes are here. They are the first to ripen. We are waiting for the heirlooms that will show up next month.
These are Kentucky Wonder beans (pictured above). They are flatter than their cousin, the blue lake bean. We tried them last week and bought more today. They are crispy and delicious when sautéed, or steamed.
Speaking of beans, the Asian market had long green Chinese beans in green and dark burgundy. They are good stir fried with soy sauce and garlic.
This eye popping colored Chidon kale deserved a photo, even though we are not fans of kale, and our friend James Dray loves kale. To your health James!
And as we were nearing the exit, we noticed that the papaya grower had added growing pineapples to his non-GMO fruit offerings.
Hope you enjoyed our tour through the Santa Barbarba Farmers Market. Wishing you an Abundance of Saturday Smiles!
