... should't Louis do a little more than this in his effort to evaluate it?

I questioned it's usefullness as well. But once I started using it, really using it. I finally "got it".

Brett, I like to meet people and forge relationships. Twitter is the single most effective Social Network for doing that.

I commented on another AR post that "the beauty of Twitter is that 140 characters is constraining, and at the same time liberating." It's been a great tool to reinforce existing relationships, meet new RE.net users, and most importantly make some great local contacts -- one of which I'm working on a major presentation for.

By itself, Twitter doesn't have a lot to offer. But combined with apps like Twhirl, TwitPic and Summize, it can become a powerful business tool. Of course, you have to use it to really see that potential.

I'd say that having your updates protected is about as good as having no profile at all! You don't protect your updates unless you already have tons of followers and you want to keep away from the spammers.

My sentiments exactly RB!

John, I'm glad you chimed in here as Twitter is where I got to know you.
