Thinking About Moving To The Waxhaw Area?

Find Out More About Waxhaw Here...

Just 15 miles from Uptown Charlotte, you'll find yourself in the historic town of Waxhaw in Union County. The town of Waxhaw gets its name from the Waxhaw Indians, who originally lived in the area and were known as the Wysacky Indians. Waxhaw is also known as the birthplace of President Andrew Jackson.

Today, Waxhaw is known for its award winning schools, lower taxes, and suburban lifestyle with small-town appeal.

Waxhaw's historic downtown features antique shops and places to dine, many of which are located in buildings from the late 19th Century. The Waxhaw Historic District is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Love the outdoor life? Waxhaw is also home to any number of parks, including: David G. Barnes Park, Harvey C. Nesbit Park, Cane Creek Park, and Town Creek Park, which offer picnic areas, playgrounds, softball fields, biking trails. The Waxhaw Farmer's Market is open year-round.

Waxhaw sponsors wonderful activities which are attended by people from all over the Charlotte metro area: the Kaleidescope Art Festival, the Queen's Cup Steeplchase (Waxhaw has the largest horse population in North Carolina), one of the metro area's largest July 4th Parade, and the Festival of Lights during the Christmas season (and of course, the Jammin' by the Tracks Summer Concert Series).

Sally K. & David L. Hanson ~ hi Sally and David... Charlotte area is simply awash with outdoor concerts in late spring/summer. The problem isn't finding one, but deciding which one to go to.

Nina,

How fun to have First Friday events like these, our little town has them also. We rarely participate, except when they have the best guacamole event.  LOL A

Summer and music is in the air. We love these musical venues - and like others have said, rarely attend, but it's nice to know we can when the mood strikes. I like your comment to Patricia - me too. ;) Ha.
