5 Things (We Think) You Should Know (And Do).

Howdy ActiveRainers,

Tim here. Happy June! It's a new month, and I think it's time for a change of pace with the frequency, content, and style of our blogging.

With that said, every Friday I'll be posting a "5 Things You Should Know (+ What To Do)." You may have seen similar formatting featured on other sites.

I promise to keep ours as original (and as closely related to real estate) as possible. ;-)

1. Today is National Donut Day.

         What you should do:
         - Surprise someone. Treat a promising lead and/or client to a donut.
         - Check out Nina Hollander's thoroughly inclusive and insightful post.

2. June is home to quite a few monthly observations.
Including (but not limited to): National Homeownership Month, National Healthy Homes Month, National DJ Month, Alzheimer's Disease and Brain Awareness Month, African-American, Music Appreciation Month, Aquarium Month, LGBT Pride Month, Men’s Health Month, National Accordion Awareness Month, National Adopt a Cat Month, National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, National Candy Month, National Camping Month, National Country Cooking Month, National Dairy Month, National Great Outdoors Month, National Iced Tea Month, National Papaya Month, National Safety Month, National Soul Food Month, Rose Month, Turkey Lovers Month.

       What you should do:
       - Take note of at least 3 and incorporate them into your marketing.
       - EDITED: join Carol Williams and myself in advocating for Father's Month (in lieu of "day").
Dads outweigh DJs any day (or month).

3. A realtor's sign lost during superstorm Sandy washes up on the shores of France.

       What you should do:
       - Have a good laugh. And remember to get your name/branding out there as much as possible.

4. A California congressman lost the endorsement of NAR due to pro-discrimination comments.

       What you should do:
       - Make sure you're up-to-speed on what kind of housing discrimination is prohibited
in your neck of the woods.

5. Real estate agent fined $2,750 for too many open house signs (deemed "littering").

        What you should do:
       - Um. Maybe rethink "What you should do" from #3. Over exposure might cost you a pretty
penny (just be aware of your city's rules and regulations, at least).

Cheers to a terrific weekend,

– Tim

Hi Tim.
What I want to know is why DJ's get a month and Fathers only get a day?
