Free Beach Boardwalk Friday Night Concerts-Berlin Blasts Off June 15

Looking for free things to do for summer fun in Silicon Valley? Mark your calendars for the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk's Free Friday Nights Bands on the Beach Concerts, blasting off with Berlin, starring Terri Nunn.
Each Friday night concert boasts two free shows-one at 6:30 pm and one at 8:30 pm. Guests are invited to watch one or both shows.

Their memorable hit "Take My Breath Away" came from the iconic 1986 film "Top Gun." The movie starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. Other popular Berlin songs include "No More Words", "Sex" and "The Metro."
Terri Nunn was voted #11 among VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Women in Rock."
When looking for some FREE fun on the weekends this summer, just call some friends, pack a beach blanket, jacket and chairs and prepare to enjoy the "FREE Friday Night Bands on the Beach" concerts at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
Each Friday night during the summer season from June 15 through August 31, 2018, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk sponsors two FREE shows on Friday nights, one at 6:30 pm followed by one at 8:30 pm.
Visitors can hear the music playing throughout the Boardwalk, from riding the Big Dipper roller coaster to eating a corn dog on the boardwalk, from dining at the end of the pier to relaxing with toes in the sand on the beach.
Enjoy a ride on the classic Looff Carousel. For thrills, ride the world-famous Giant Dipper, the largest wooden roller coaster in the West. Be sure to sample some of Marini's salt water taffy, now celebrating 100 years at the Beach.
Parking nearby is available although the closest is a bit pricey at about $20 (up from $10 in 2011). Sometimes a full page of coupons good at the Boardwalk for games, activities and food is included.
Concert Information and Etiquette For the comfort and safety of all guests, please note the following:
Access to the prime seating area begins at 4 p.m.; no blankets or chairs are permitted in the roped off areas before 4 p.m. The line formed on the beach will be given first priority at prime area seating.
Please limit blanket size to 3’ x 5’ feet per person, about the size of a beach towel. Only low-back chairs are allowed; High-back chairs will be required to move to the back of the beach area. Please allow others 
space and a good view.
Smoking of any kind is forbidden on the beach and Boardwalk. Alcohol and glass are prohibited on the beach. Recording of concerts is not allowed. Please keep walkways & stairs clear; dancing permitted in front of the stage only.
A limited number of assisted listening devices are available from guest relations. Deaf interpreters are a standard feature of the Beach Boardwalk concerts.

Other fun free events are the Beach Boardwalk Free Movie Nights on Wed., starting at 9 pm on June 20 with the classic film, "The Lost Boys" starring Kiefer Sutherland, Dianne Wiest, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.
