Being Well-Versed Doesn't Mean You Stop Learning | Learning Never Ends
Are you truly well-versed, or are you comparing yourself to an average producing associate?
Do you consider yourself well-versed in your area of proficiency? We often read blog posts about niche marketing and how beneficial it is to have a niche. My team’s niche is land and new construction. We focus on new homes and raw land acquisition for our developer/builders.
There are times when I’m reading an article on land and feel somewhat incompetent. I’ve had decades of experience with land and new homes, but there are those moments when one realizes that learning MUST NEVER STOP.
We all want to present ourselves as being well-versed in our “area of concentration.” I am careful not to use the word “expertise.” I don’t believe there are many who should use that word. It’s overused, and if one were to be challenged on their area of “expertise,” disappointment and embarrassment may follow!!!
To reach a level of being "well-versed" is challenging enough for any real estate agent. We need to choose the words carefully that we use to describe our "competency." I don’t know if I have ever met an “expert.” Think about your level of competency in your niche area. Are you truly well-versed, or are you comparing yourself to an average producing associate?
Just another quick thought for the moment…..
