Cocktail Suggestion: Elderflower Gin and Tonic
Chef Dolores has prepared some especially good gin and tonic cocktails and I thought you might like to have the recipe for your summertime happy hours.
ELDERFLOWER GIN AND TONIC
Yields 1 cocktail
A fusion of Gin and Tonic that pairs Bombay Sapphire gin with Elderflower Liqueur.
Ingredients:
2 large spheres of ice
2 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin
1 oz. Elderflower Liqueur ( I used Lloyd's)
1 3” strip of orange zest
1 6-8 oz. bottle of Fever-Tree tonic water (I used diet Fever-Tree)
Orange bitters to taste.
Instructions:
Put ice spheres in an oversized glass (I use 8-10 cubes)
Gently pour in the gin and Elderflower liqueur
Using a paring knife, cut off a strip or orange zest over the glass. Rub the rim of the glass with the zest and put it into the glass.
Slowly pour in the tonic and add the orange bitters to taste.
Enjoy!
