It is hard to imagine anyone that isn’t familiar with the history of the Beatles. The Fab Four lead the British Invasion in the early 1960’s. Every concert they performed was marked by screaming crowds of young people. I remember as a young man in grade school. I went to a local dance at the school. The DJ was one of the high school boys. He decided to play the song I want to hold your hand. But one of the teachers interrupted the song after only a few bars. Every girl in the room screamed and ran up to the stage to protest. They wouldn’t settle down until they played the song in its entirety. It was Beatle mania.
The Beatles were one of the most prolific groups of performers ever. They simply wrote and performed hit song after hit song. Even after their break up as a group they each continued on with impressive solo careers.
The Beatles recorded songs that ranged from old fashion Rock and Roll to psychedelic, to country. Their music was featured in movies and cartoons. They have been covered by countless performers.
I never had a chance to see the Beatles perform live, but I did get to see George Harrison and Paul McCartney live.
John and Paul were the lead singers on the majority of Beatle songs. However, I chose a song that features George, the youngest Beatle, as the lead singer. I hope you enjoy this great memory.
