Google factory tour

For those of you who are interested in Google's vision regarding providing access to pretty much every aspect of the digital information surrounding us and in the search product developments in general, the video below is a great source of insight. It's over 2 hours long. The first hour and a half is about their different search products, including maps and location information. This is one of the topics which is very valuable for the real estate industry and will result in some significant disruption in the near future I believe.

The last 40-50 minutes is about their new product: Google Health which provides individuals a way to organize their health records and aggregate information from different sources.

It is a very long video and it would be great if YouTube provides video bookmarks like Viddler does so that one can jump from chapter to chapter easily. Currently it is a bit cumbersome to find the specific topic in the video, but in any case, this video is a great source of invaluable information:

J - I would say SocialRank. PageRank still considers the authors of content and the readers to be distinct group of people. SocialRank - just a buzz word I made up, unless somebody else is using it already - will rank content relevancy more by the online social graph vs authority of "professional" authors. My guess, we'll see. I have a blog post about this soon on the RealBird Blog
