Earlier today, I read a post from Kathy McGraw ~ Calif Broker that talked about following our dreams. I could not get the post off my mind and decided to take what she reached out with and send this back to her as well as everyone else whose dreams may not be there yet or who has put their dreams on hold for a while.
Kathy McGraw ~ Calif Broker This is especially for you and thank you for the dreams and memories of other dreams.
The Impossible Dream
To dream the impossible dream To fight the unbeatable foe To bear with unbearable sorrow To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong To love pure and chaste from afar To try when your arms are too weary To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest To follow that star No matter how hopeless No matter how far
To fight for the right Without question or pause To be willing to march into Hell For a heavenly cause
And I know if I'll only be true To this glorious quest That my heart will lie peaceful and calm When I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this That one man, scorned and covered with scars Still strove with his last ounce of courage To reach the unreachable star
So many of us walk through life with dreams that never seem to come true. We keep them hidden in our hearts and don't share them with anyone and when I saw that Kathy had decided to share a couple of hers, made my heart ache for the courage it took for her to open up to her family. So with that said and the words written out that I have carried since graduation from high school, here is the audio version done so well at the 57th Tony Awards a couple of years ago.
Enjoy and share your dreams because they will come true if you believe in them.
Wayne, I'm a dreamer myself and I absolutely loved that poem. Aside from my faith in God, that poem describes my outlook on life, or at least how I try to maintain it, better than anything I've ever read. THANKS!!!!
Wayne- this was nice, and I love that song (poem).....Children's Dreams might never match the realities that life has for them. We just might have to change our dreams.......but as long as we can accept this, and be comfortable then I think it's OK, don't you?
Wayne, No dream is impossible! Sometimes life gets in the way but we need to keep reaching for our dreams! I just read Kathy's post also.
