Lock Watch for the Week of 6/11/2018

Volatility-O-Meter:

This week could go nuclear, no pun intended.  The week will start with the world making sense of what happened at G7, then figure out what will happen with North Korea, then watch the Fed raise rates, all the while with a backdrop of shifting sands in Europe.

Economicalendar (all times are Pacific):

Mon, 6/11:       3-Yr Note Auction (8:30am) and 10-Yr Note Auction (10am).

Tues, 6/12:       CPI (5:30am) and 30-Yr Bond Auction (10am).

Weds, 6/13:     PPI (5:30am) and FOMC Meeting Announcement (11am).

Leonard Skinner

Back in the 1960’s there was a gym teacher at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL, who, it is reported, harassed with great enthusiasm the male students that listened to rock and roll music and wore their hair a bit too long for his liking.  Several of this student body demographic did what any rebellious high schoolers might do in return, they created a series of running jokes to lampoon Skinner.  This, in and of itself, is not unusual.

After Skinner retired from teaching he became a real estate agent (go figure) and the owner of a couple of bars in the Jacksonville area.

After the students graduated (though I can't verify that they all did), they went on to form southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Free as a bird,

Leonard Skinner was pretty incredible and did great things with his life after retiring from teaching. Thank you for sharing. I sure hope they didn't change the name of that High School.

Have a great day!

The stock market remained fairly flat today.  I suspect tomorrow may have potential for volitility based on what happens at THE SUMMIT.
