Today was a hard working day. I was exhausted when I grabbed a glass of iced tea and went to the front porch to my favorite rocker. As I sat there, rocking and relaxing, I began to count my blessings for all the wonderful people and things in my life. Then suddenly, a beautiful butterfly flew right over the top of my lap and into the flowerbed it went.
Lupines are blooming but it's the little iris flowers this one likes. It posed for me as I positioned my camera as close as I could. I wanted all the beautiful details of its' wings to show. What magnificent pictures I took. This one did not get spooked and fly off. Lots of pictures, right side up and upside down.
I am amazed at the beauty of nature. When I study my flowers and the buttlerflies they attract, I am totally blown away at the beauty and the differences. Little differences in petals, stems, colors and textures of the flowers make watching these grow, bloom and die so much fun. Watching the butterflies is awesome. They are all so different in color and design.
I took a large cupped seashell put some pebbles in it and water for the butterflies. They can drink from this without drowning. It's like a miniature birdbath. They love it!
I'll keep growing flowers and attracting butterflies. It is the best way to relax in the evening. Rocking on the porch, tea in hand and camera in the other.
