One of our friends just gave us a bowlful of Avocados from his ranch in Carpinteria (Avocado Capital). The latest way to eat avocado is to mash them on toast (aka smashed avo toast) with two poached eggs for breakfast. You can also add a couple slices of bacon to make it that much better. If you like avocado, this is a delicious recipe...
Hello Ron and Alexandra Seigel I have enjoyed avocado toast for years...I guess I was ahead of a trend! LOL

Lisa Von Domek how funny is that. And I loved hearing that it started in CA, and we have an Avo festival every year in October...A
Kathy Streib It is really good, every so often we have a clubhouse with avocado also. I buy at least three to five a week at the Farmers Market. This week thanks to our friend I will be fine, and there are three in the refrigerator that are ripe. LOL A
Funny but, my favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs with sliced avocado (and coarse sea salt, of course)! I would be in heaven with an entire bowl of avocados, Alexandra! LOL

That sounds like a wonderful breakfast sandwich and I would pass on the bacon, even though bacon tastes pretty good, haha.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I recently tried an almond milk cappucino here, and it did not taste as good, as we have had it elsewhere. The barista did not have the skill to even make a design. I can't imagine life without avocados. A

I know what you mean. When I find a really good one, it makes me want to take the Barista home with me. Lol. And, there is no life without avocados. Too dramatic? ;)
I like the salad bowl approach with more diversity in business and in actual food as well. It’s just always worked that way and so much better for me personally. :)

Where are any of us without guacamole in our lives. I can’t imagine a world without it even if I don’t get to eat it that much. Hahaha! Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Avocados are the new gold. Time to plant more trees I think, since they are super healthy and good for you. Beautiful picture and the bowl is nice too!

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 it is part of our economy here, and animportant one at that. And that bowl was thrown by me. When we lived in Napa, we had access to a wheel, kiln and an excellent teacher. I intend to get back to it. A

I had no idea that Carpinteria was "the" place for avocados. Love them... but you won't be catching me making this recipe... rarely eat toast, don't each poached eggs (ever), and don't especially like bacon. Just the avocado slices will do me.

Hi, you have a pretty wonderful friend to give you a bowl full of beautiful and tasty Avocados. And I also love my Paleo Morning Menu -Poached Eggs, Bacon, and Avocados, sans bread, grains, dairy products. Yes, lucky you...sometimes Avocados sell for over $1.50 for just one. Not too cheap an item here...
