I love living in Alexandria. Everything you need and want to do is located in the city. My favorite spot is Old Town Alexandria. The neighborhood is great as well. It is quiet and the neighbors are great. They help each other. They also have a site online where everyone keeps in touch. Some neighbors have cook-outs and parties and everyone is invited. They also list recommendations for repairs of your home and they have a neighborhood watch and they look out for each other.
There are many things I love about the home. I love the fact that it is solid brick and made very well. They do not make homes like this anymore. It keeps in the heat in the winter and the cool air in the summer. I actually have a back yard which can be rare in the city and its very peaceful and serene. You can live next to all the conveniences but yet still have serenity.
Since living in the home there have been many updates. The updates include: new roof, new carpet in basement and bedroom, all hardwood floors on the main floor, chair rail and crown molding throughout, new paint inside and out, new lighting and medicine cabinet in the downstairs bathroom, new switch plates installed, air conditioning and water heater are all new in 2010.
