Giving back to the community!

How many times are we asked to help out in our community? Not often enough. You must go out and find out where you can help. I know each and everyone of us has a few hours a month to volunteer. Talk with your neighbors and friends and ask them how they are making their community a better place.

The first step is always the hardest. No one likes to be left alone. That's just human nature. How many times have you found yourself standing alone by yourself when everyone else is talking. Not a comfortable feeling huh? Why is that? Human Nature. We all tend to gravitate to people we know. It's sad but true. One thing I've learned is that sometimes you have to step up to the plate and make the first move. Stand tall, take a deep breathe and make the first move. Walk up to someone and introduce yourself, with hand out and a smile on your face.. How could anyone turn you down. Make the move it works.

The same holds true with community service, make the first move. Check out organizartions on line and call and meet with them. A few years back I joined the Mint Hill Lions Club. I felt the same way. Not sure if I made the right move. Today, I have made some lasting relatinships. Try it, it works.
