Delray Beach...Summer
For those of us in Florida, it seems as if summer has been here for months! The ocean has been like a lake early in the mornings and the only breeze we felt this week was when a group of bikers rode by or a large truck passed us.

Summer for me means ice cream cones (even though I can never eat one without it dripping all over me!), iced tea, and playing long hours outside until the sun finally decided it was time for everyone to turn in.

We noticed this morning that city workers are busy removing storm fences along the sidewalk. This signals to us that July 4th is right around the corner.
What does that mean? Almost every year, the city removes the somewhat weathered storm fences that separate the sidewalk from the seagrapes and sand dunes. They then replace it with the same kind of fence. The story is that someone had once donated all of this old storm fencing. Stuck with all of this storm fencing, the city tears down the old fence and replaces with more of the same.
