~Gananoque/Kingston/1000 Islands

Some of you are in very difficult markets right now, facing many shortsales etc.   We've been through it too and I promise you, it will get better.  It always does.  But, for the short term it is tough to keep it together sometimes.

Our market is quite strong currently and for that I am thankful.  I am actively building my business by referral and putting my trust in them for when the difficult times head north (which they will).

What are you doing to counter act this downturn in your business?  Or, are you having a downturn at all?  I am hoping to learn from you and what you have put in place.

Good luck to you all and may you not only survive this year but that you will be great in 2008!

So, you've been through this and back...that is encouraging...I am just trying to diversify, and adjust to where the business is, like short sales, foreclosures...and the like...hoping that in the end, things will improve...

Susan, it's interesting to look back at AR members early posts. And, here I find that the economy was front-and-center of your mind. What have you found now that nearly two years have passed?

Andrew -  what a great idea to go back to the earlier posts . . .  I'm going to join you in that idea.  Two years on I've found that my area/market didn't really get hit.  My community is a self-sustaining community meaning not dependant on the same things other towns and cities need.  We have 5 hospitals, 3 universities/colleges, a military base, several prisons etc.  We don't go thru the highs nor do we suffer the lows of the market.

I am finding that the Realtors who don't change with the times are being left behind.  The business is changing rapidly and I'm excited about our future.  2010 I've had my best 1/4 ever!!!

Thanks for stopping in.

Susan, I hope you don't find it creepy that I went alllll the way back to your first blog to read it. It's not the typical "this is my first blog" post. Good job!

Eric - on AR I don't mind at all!!!   I remember how nervous I was to hit that Submit button the very first time and then sat waiting to see if anyone read it.   To get a response in less than 10 minutes had me whoo hoo'in big time!    I might have to go 'creeping' around some of our EVAC posts :)
