old Searcy photo Jody Taylor Anita new car

Jody's new car?

Here's another great old snapshot that was loaned to me with permission to share on this blog.  The writing was underneath the scanned photo and tells who was there......even down to the dog's name.  But we don't know who owned the dog!

Jody Taylor, so it says, was home from the Air Force and got himself a new car.  I assume the car on the left was it.  My understanding is that he and Anita Hart lived across the street from each other on West Arch Street in Searcy.

Note the street had a sidewalk!  I hate that eventually builders decided that sidewalks were not needed in the new subdivisions so we have many homes and subdivisions in Searcy AR with no sidewalks.

Happy 4th of July to a veteran, Jody, and to all others!

Happy 4th of July to you and Valerie, Barbara! This photograph could be in my own scrapbook, LOL. Looks just like my mother's car. Hope all is well with you both!

I love these old photos. They serve as a reminder of days gone by. Now with this digital age I have to wonder if my grandchildren will have any reminders of the good old days. Happy 4th Barbara.

Looks like Anita is wearing her saddle oxfords. I'm guessing the time 1952 when shorts got a little shorter in the Southwest. Watch out for Maddie, Anita!

Don, wasn't she too young at this time to try fashion??

I'm not sure shorts are considered fashion but maybe so.
