Everyone I talk to is finding it harder and harder to find that "Dream Home". If a home is priced right and is in good condition it's gone in 60 seconds. Forget about the low ball offers, even foreclosures (what's left of them) are getting more than what they are asking for.
Why all the fuss? Recently, my first time home buyer secured a 95% loan at 5.75%. Are you kidding me? What about all the subprime debacle that is constantly thrown into our faces by the media and the dire news that keeps pounding us over our heads? Hogwash!
Houston has affordable housing! Take a 2,000 sqft home and move it to the coast and see what happens to the price. I know what your thinking, just like most everyone else I've told my family and friends. If you want to buy a house, then come to any major city in Texas. You can live here, own your home, and live comfortably.
We are fortunate to live in an economic powerhouse.
