When you are looking for a specific home (must have a large backyard, three blocks max from a certain school, etc.) here's a tool that will probably save you a MINT in gas money, not to mention lots of time.

Use www.virtualearth.com!!! Try it now and you will be amazed.

This is NOT just an aerial or satellite photo, my friends!

The secret? Use the bird's eye view. You can see a house from front, back and each side - plus you can drag the map to see surrounding neighborhoods, schools, businesses, etc.

Betty, You are right, on some of the maps you can't get super close, but you can definitely see what the neighborhood is like - lot size, proximity to street, distance from local park, how many lanes of traffic, and so much more.
