Elk Banquet and Drawing in the Backcountry of Highlands Ranch

At the Southridge rec center today from 6:00pm to 8:30pm will be the Elk Banquet and Drawing in the Backcountry of Highlands Ranch. Our Highlands Ranch property management office is only 5 minutes north of the Backcountry, so we are in tune with all the monthly events they get to show off to the community. This year’s banquet goes for over two hours and is in the Wildcat Auditorium at the Southridge Rec Center and there will be a host of events and items on display there. There is dinner, door prizes, the first ever opportunity to get the new, first ever Backcountry Wilderness Area hat, a limited edition hat whose benefit can only be gleaned once you see it in person and the auction and the drawing itself. There is a separate hunt that is near by and the event offers residents the chance to hunt just ten minutes from home in the 8,200-acre Backcountry Wilderness Area. The lottery drawing will determine the tags. There are bull elk, cow elk, coyote and spring turkey. The number of tags varies year to year as determined by the state. All the proceeds raised directly benefit the Backcountry Conservation and Education Fund. It should be a fun event for those are hunt minded and like this sort of event.
