Just about every city and state has landfill issues and rules about recycling. Why aren't there rules on the Internet to get rid of old or erroneous information floating around in Cyberspace? Also, if it isn't factual, why are people allowed to express freedom of speech on the Internet without any credibility or proof?
BROWSING HISTORY
Take responsibility for emptying trash on the Internet and clean up computers before they crash and get hacked. Regardless of educational level, don't be naive to believe everything you read when information is found on the Internet.
"The Library is the temple of learning,
and learning has liberated more people than wars in history."
--- Carl T. Rowan
INSTANT INFORMATION
The concept of getting instant information is wonderful! However, how much information is trash? Have a Security System and back-up in place. Also, why is it that when you search for information, you find junk that you weren't looking for in the first place; yet seems interesting - so click and read further?
WEIRD RULES
This morning I was looking up information when I got "Weird Rules To Keep in Mind When Traveling Through Blue Ridge, GA." Out of curiosity, I read some weird stuff; then immediately following without my initiative was "16 Weird Rules to Keep in Mind When Traveling Though Texas." There are eyes (algorithms) in Cyberspace! Some of the most ridiculous stuff listed included the following:
- Outlawing the Encyclopedia Britannica
- Watch your Bean Intake in Port Arthur, TX (no obnoxious odors inside an elevator)
- Special $5 permit to walk barefoot
I'm no lawyer, and I don't practice law, but this trash was out there, not only for TX but all states in the United States. When I searched Google - TX Laws Statutes, I couldn't find anything related to what was printed on "Weird TX Laws;" yet, I have to wonder why does this junk have to stay stuck in Cyberspace polluting the minds of individuals, especially young children, and why are so many schools requiring children and students to make use of the Internet?
CREDIBLE RESOURCES
How credible does credible have to be and why are actors allowed to advertise pills, medicine, medical procedures, mortgage and real estate information without credentials or a license to do so? You'll never find me being nominated for "The Oscars," Best Actress," or Academy Awards."
As a licensee for Texas Real Estate, I'm only qualified to know what is required by the State of Texas to sell residential real estate. Public trust is important. I do not practice law. I am not an actor or actress. I am a traveler of knowledge and enjoy visiting libraries everywhere I travel.

BEWARE OF TRASH
Read and disseminate information responsibly. Never plagiarize. Give credit where credit is due. When traveling on the INTERNET, be cognizant of qualifications. Don't fall victim into somebodies trash that shouldn't have been there in the first place and hasn't be recycled, or eliminated. If you're really thirsty for knowledge, go to the library research database, use the card catalogs, or take a class on Library Research. It's fun and educational without being weird!
