Picture of a Woody/Woodie Automobile

You never know when you're going to see something that just shouts: Take a picture!

Most of you won't know what this car is, as they stopped building them, I think, in the 1940's...possibly the early 1950's.

This a WOODIE or WOODY...yup, this auto was manufactured with wood siding and trim. It carries its spare on the side...and we didn't see any glass for windows. And, there's even a running board. I suspect (I haven't Googled it) that that they had "issenglass" windows which they probably tied to the struts.

So, if only I had kept my Dad's Chevy ivory/gold Impala.

Really good picture and if I remember they made Woody Wagons up into the early sixties.  It's always good to have a camera around.

Wayne,

One of my readers is a Woody/Woodie fan and he sent me both pictures and more information on these cars. Actually, they stopped making them in the early '50's.

But many people loved them and kept them going for years.

And, yes, a camera is handy. I loved my old Olympus, Nikon and early Polaroid. I'm even thinking of keeping the Olympus with me as it does fanastic shots and just have them burned onto a CD.

KK...

Yeah...I know...cracks me up too!
