Today marks the 2nd Installment of the Weekly Elimination Challenge for our 'Makeover2Takeover' Team Contest Event.

This 'Official' Makeover2Takeover Blog serves as the primary connection point to follow all the weekly 'Happenings, and journal entries from the various M2T Teams, so be sure to subscribe!

The field of 15 Teams, comprised of both seasoned Real Estate veterans (Mentors) and their eager Apprentices, are facing weekly elimination challenges leading up to the 2008 Inman SF Connect, where only 3 Teams will remain, and the Last Team standing will be crowned the Winner!

After judging the Week One Challenge, no doubt the competition promises to be extremely intense and highly entertaining! Project Runway, a cake walk. Top Chef, pack your knives. Here comes the Makeover2Takeover Week Two Team Challenge!

WEEK TWO CHALLENGE

Here's the scenario:  You've just been contacted by e-mail from a referral client. A friend of a friend (hopefully someone in the database that you created last week!) wants to sell their home, and relocate to a golf community in the Phoenix, AZ area. While they respect the recommendation of their friend to utilize your services, they feel they owe it to themselves to interview other potential agents as well. But here's the kicker - they're currently vacationing in their summer condo in Lake Tahoe, CA. So anything you communicate with them will need to be done so digitally, through e-mail!

Your assignment this week is to create a cutting-edge, totally digital 'Pre-Listing' Package. Your Package will be graded on overall aesthetics/organization, general content, and creativity/resourcefulness. Put yourself in the consumer's shoes and create a 'Pre-Listing' Package that you feel will put you ahead of the pack, and make you the obvious choice for their Listing Agent!

THE WEEK TWO CHALLENGE WILL REQUIRE OUR TEAMS TO SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING:

1.    Create a 'Pre-Listing' Package that is completely digital and can be sent through e-mail.

2.    Send your complete Package to me, rich@activerain.com, as though I were the potential client.

3.    Once again, be as creative and resourceful as you want, but keeping in mind your potential client's expressed needs.

Any problems, issues, or questions, please contact Rich by e-mail or phone at 360.440.4758.

Food for Thought: Listening is a big part of knowing your client's needs. What have they told you?

Stay Out of Jail:  Just a reminder, all work and effort must be performed completely by the respective Team members only, and for the benefit of the Apprentice. Also remember, the fruit of your labor and your positive attitudes will serve as a shining inspiration to those who would follow in your footsteps!

CLARIFICATION:  The Teams will only turn in the required assignments/documentation for the Apprentice ONLY. The Weekly Challenges, while performed by both Mentors & Apprentices collectively, only need to be submitted as they apply to the Apprentice.

The Week TWO Challenge is due by 3PM (PST) Sunday June 1st. The Teams that will move onto the next Round, as well as the Team who has been eliminated, will be announced at Noon, Monday June 2nd (PST) by vLog on the AR Official Blog. Two Teams will be eliminated as a result of this challenge, so all the more reason to bring your 'A' game!

~ Best of Luck to all the Teams! ~

Fearless Leader, another winner!  Both of our first two challenges are so necessary to a successful real estate career.  You are showing everyone you do know what is important in the Real Estate Industry, congratulations on your perspectives, they are dead on!  I think this is one of the most important skills, have a post to do on this one that will be perfect and tie it together beautifully.  Thanks Liz, Team Tex-La.

Congratulations again Missy and Kim...good job!  Liz

Wonderful challenge.  This is a project that I've been working on both for sellers and buyers and it certainly needs some refinements and enhancements.  This will be a busy week for sure.

Very interesting - so there are apprentices and mentors.  If the apprentice asks for help among AR members for something like a prelisting package is that ok or against the rules? Do they have to find that info on their own?

On another insider note - the market you mention is Phoenix, and obviously the teams don't live there or know the market.  I have a great connection there with an investor that bought several houses but I'd be curious about the approach of an apprentice w/limited knowledge and resources.  The Mentor would really have to help out with the market knowledge.
