MEMORIAL DAY of 2008

A National Moment of Remembrance On Memorial Day
That poem about where "poppies blow"
And, "the crosses, row on row"
Still rings true, these ninety years
After written, still brings tears.
We still have Dead, "amid the guns"
And lose our young and our loved ones
Those who lived, "short days ago"
Who, "felt dawn, saw sunset glow".
In Flanders Fields, "the poppy red"
Still grow near where the blood was bled
They, "Take up our quarrel with the foe"
And still die for Freedoms that we know.
They pass, "The torch" to, "hold it high"
And not, "break the faith with us who die"
For they, "shall not sleep, though poppies grow"
Beneath all those, "crosses, row on row"
In Flanders Fields.

Dearest Brandon
Life changed as I had known it some 5 years ago when you decided that you had a calling to serve this Country we live in and love.
That very first Christmas without out you, nearly broke our hearts and we didn't think we could live through it.
The sleepless nights, the nightmares, the worry..........and we have lived through it all. (Not happily, but PROUDLY) Your sacrifice for our freedoms is often a daunting and overwhelming thought; how could I have known that this darling boy; my first born that made a career beginning with Tiger Scouts through Eagle Scout would someday leave the SPACE we shared and begin a life of his own on the other side of the world. Most days it feels as though I will never share that SPACE again with you and certainly the interior of our SPACE has changed forever. Though sometimes angry , most often sad; I and your family are PROUD, PROUD, PROUD of you.
We just wanted to take a moment to glorify you and let you know how much we love you and how much we miss you, Brandon
THANK YOU for all your sacrifices
