HARRIS BEACH STATE PARK

Greetings from Brookings, Oregon! We are situated on the Southern Oregon Coast at the mouth of the Chetco River. We have a mild climate and boast a year round average temperature of 65*F. We are nick-named the "Banana Belt" and yes bananas can actually grow here along with lemons and limes.

While you are here you can enjoy many ocean and river sports including; fishing, crabbing, clamming, whale watching, boating, kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, beach combing, horseback riding, hiking,camping and so much more. Activities happen all year long and some of them include; Azalea Festival, Kite Festival, Slammin' Salmon Fishing Derby, Art Walks, Concerts in the Park, Saturday Farmer''s Market and a local Playhouse with productions all year long.

There is so much scenic coastline and wooded mountains surrounding Brookings, it truly is a beautiful place to live. We are near the Redwood National Forest, the Wild and Scenic Rogue River and the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area. Brookings is really an undiscovered paradise.
