HARRIS BEACH STATE PARK
Greetings from Brookings, Oregon! We are situated on the Southern Oregon Coast at the mouth of the Chetco River. We have a mild climate and boast a year round average temperature of 65*F. We are nick-named the "Banana Belt" and yes bananas can actually grow here along with lemons and limes.
While you are here you can enjoy many ocean and river sports including; fishing, crabbing, clamming, whale watching, boating, kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, beach combing, horseback riding, hiking, camping and so much more. Activities happen all year long and some of them include; Azalea Festival, Kite Festival, Slammin' Salmon Fishing Derby, Art Walks, Concerts in the Park, Saturday Farmer''s Market and a local Playhouse with productions all year long.
There is so much scenic coastline and wooded mountains surrounding Brookings, it truly is a beautiful place to live. We are near the Redwood National Forest, the Wild and Scenic Rogue River and the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area. Brookings is really an undiscovered paradise. Once you come and visit you will want to stay a life time.
