SPOTLIGHT: MISCellaneous Distillery
MISCellaneous Distillery is proud to bring their latest release to the Main Street Farmers and Artists Market this week! Popi's Finest Rum starts with the same ingredients and production process as Risky Rum, combining blackstrap molasses and dark brown sugar and distilling twice to ensure a smooth flavor. The rum is then set aside for six months, using small format barrels (five gallons) to accelerate the aging process. The barrel-aged product (named after Dan's great grandfather who lived most of his life in Cuba) was released just last week, and a few bottles of Batch #1 will be available at the market this weekend. Tasting notes for this barrel-aged rum include salted caramel and dark chocolate, with a rounded mouth feel and a slightly herbal finish. Yes, it's delicious.
