If you are looking for a great independent movie theater in Denver, one that has unique films that most often are not played in the big chains then look no further than the Sie FilmCenter in Congress Park. This theater hosts everything from local films, to indie documentary shorts, to documentaries that have yet to break into the wide mainstream but are still compelling enough to have their story told the audiences of Denver. There are many different events and screenings at the Sie FilmCenter that you will need to keep up with their event pages and website to be able to plan for all of them. They have a heavy rotation during the year and have also hosted the Denver Film Festival multiple years running. Denver property management allows us to be in the know and in the seats at the theater for any showings that may interest us. Right now, we want to bring your attention to GoodCinema presents: The House I Live In. From the host organization page “"GoodCinema, a Denver startup that brings together documentary films with subject matter experts, is launching at Denver's Sie FilmCenter on August 7 with the award-winning documentary, The House I Live In. The film, directed by Eugene Jarecki, examines the War on Drugs with first-hand accounts from people on the front lines. It also examines the societal impacts of a system that was initially built as a form of legal discrimination and has since grown to become a political and economic machine at the expense of all Americans. Following the film, the audience will be invited to join a discussion, including a panel of four community leaders, on the impact of the War on Drugs, ways to repair the damage, and how to overhaul a system that infringes on personal liberties, exploits minorities, and treats drug abuse as a crime rather than a health issue.

PANELISTS:
Kayvan Khalatbari - Denver Mayoral Candidate
Art Way - Colorado Director, Drug Policy Alliance
Elisabeth Epps - Denver Justice Project
Cody Boden - Second Chance Center"
