Last week, my friend Dee and I were thinking about doing something just for fun. Preferably something easy and cheap. So we kicked around ideas - what would we do if we were tourists visiting here? What have we wanted to do and just not gotten around to? She suggested the Celestial Seasonings Tour - and it met all the criteria, so off we went.
Easy - couldn't be easier. They'r
e open for tours every day except major holidays. No reservations needed, just show up. Tours start every hour and while you wait, there's plenty to do. Sample teas, check out the displays, or have something to munch at the cafeteria.
Also easy to find - just go to their website for directions. Just a short drive from Arvada, Broomfield, Westminster.
Cheap - couldn't be cheaper (free!). At least, it's free until you hang out in the shop too long. It's entirely likely that they'll 'get' you with their varieties of tea you can't get in every store, their teapots, cups, books, and lots more.
Fun - OK, it's not like riding a roller-coaster fun, but none of my friends will do that with me anyway! The tour starts with an interesting video, then the friendly guide takes you through the whole process. My favorite is the peppermint room - you'll either love it or not so much. Some people stepped out as soon as the vapors hit their eyeballs, and some stayed in, breathing deep as long as they were allowed to. I was in the latter group.
