It's August 18th, schools about to start, and I was feeling guilty that I had not had the camper out this year... and only once last year. So off to camping we go, after all I bought new tires for the camper this year.
Our campsite.
Once again we chose to camp at East Totten Trail Campsite as we know it's usually very clean, has good facilities for the "primitive" side or the higher class camping pads with electricity. We usually go primitive and this time, for the 1st time, I brought a generator.
Fishing is always good on Lake Audubon but we just go for the camping and swimming.
Tina and Timmothy at the beach.
As with most lakes there is always the beauty of nature even though lake Audubon is not a natural lake. Audubon and the much more known Lake Sakakawea were created with the completion of the Garrison Dam in 1947.
There are those who come to fish from the beach, the dock, and of course a lot of boats launch from the nearby boat ramp as well. Aside from the campers there are the locals too.
When we are camping we usually cook most of our meals over the fire pit, on the grill, or in the camper but we always count on one meal as a pizza dinner at The Totten Trail Bar & Grill. We have gone to the Totten Trail Bar & Grill for over 20 years and the cool thing is they are always improving. It was a wonderful family time and it leaves we wondering why we only seem to do it just once a year.
