Our Sedona monsoon has peaked and will be coming to an end soon.  Technically, monsoon goes to the end of September, but mid July through August is the peak of the season. Our most dramatic images are always taken during monsoon. The only images involving actual weather that can come close to this season are images taken during, or right after, a snowfall. Before you know it, winter will be here! It is not a season we dread, because winter does not last long and is pretty mild overall.  Of course, spring and fall foliage is also pretty cool too!

For more information, about our monsoon, please go to Sedona-Weather.com .

Those truly are dramatic scenes of your Sedona monsoon, Sheri.  The vivid red color of the rocks in the second photo is amazing!

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - When it rains or we get red bounce back from the clouds, those red rocks go very crimson.

Sheri- those colors...the photos are art!!!!   I can't imagine what it's like there when there is a monsoon.

Hi Kathy Streib - most of us appreciate monsoon. The cloud cover and rain really cools things down! The micro-bursts and unusual just add the excitement and drama (as well as entertainment).

Aloha Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - There has been some major damage out of two storms down in the Phoenix area but it has not been bad in Northern AZ where Sedona is located.

Hi Joan Cox - The whole state has had a pretty good wet monsoon. We are going to have El Nino conditions coming up which mean more rain for us. Not sure how it will affect Colorado.

Good morning Sheri - those are great shots worth framing.  I can't say I remember that point in the coming monsoon when I was there.  I do remember the heavy rain however which is certainly welcome.  I noticed so much of it ran off though.

Sheri, when our skies look like this, we are either going to see tornadoes or a heck of a snowstorm!
