Do you have a portfolio of recommendation letters from your past clients? I do and so should you.

Having real feedback from your past clients is like a resume that really tells it like it is!

I couldn't wait to write my last post. It was an incredible Real Estate story that I wanted to share. Please feel free to read about how someone who knew my face tried to find me but lost all my contact information. This person even went and knocked on the door of my house. The only trouble was that I had moved!

The search was on and it was a complete success and in the end it turned out to be more than just a business relationship....it became a closer friendship as well.

I appreciate the fact that this letter below was sent to me the day after we closed on her home.

This letter is as good as a paycheck.

Thanks for everything!

This letter is written in reference to the professional services performed by Neal Bloom, Realtor of Remax Premier Associates.  I am very pleased to say that Mr. Bloom provided me with excellent client services during the sale of my home.  During the sale of the home he was very responsive; he kept me apprised of current sales and offerings on my home.  As my agent he advocated for my interests and ethically represented me, analyzed the market and made sure that my home was competitive and ready to sell, he utilized the power of the internet by creating a website to maximize my homes exposure.  More importantly Mr. Bloom communicated with me openly and honestly and followed up with buyers agents as necessary.  He thoroughly read the disclosures and advised me to the best of his abilities and explained fully the commissions and the costs involved with the sale.  He guided me all the way to the closing and his level of professionalism left me with the constant feeling of "being in good hands".

Mr. Bloom did an excellent job of coordinating with lenders as well as the buyer's agent to ensure that everyone was in agreement with the desired closing and dates.  In my opinion Mr. Bloom substantially exceeded my expectations with respect to the services I was entitled to from a professional real estate agent.  Based on my experience with Mr. Bloom, I would highly recommend him without reservation to anyone in need of a professional realtor.

Sincerely,

S. Strauss

Awesome letter!  And, very good point about how important it is for you...

Neal:

Not only do I have testimonial letters, I have at least one on my website. I'm planning on uploading a second one by the end of the summer. Keep up the good work Neal.

05/28/2008 07:46 AM by Columbia SC Homes for Sale by David Patterson (Keller Williams Columbia SC)

Great letter, Neal. I keep them all so when I'm having a bad day, I drag them out and reread. Lifts me up and I forget the negative clients.

05/28/2008 07:58 AM by Missy Caulk Ann Arbor Realtor Ann Arbor Real Estate (Keller Williams Ann Arbor)

The testimonials are priceless in my opinion. We can talk all day about what we will do for a client, but nothing beats the power of someone else bragging about us after we live up to their expectations. Great letter, you obviously did a fantastic job for your client.

Neal- Documentation beats conversation, hands down, any day! Testimonies are the best documentation that there is for any business. I post them on our website and what you did here, post it on your blog is very effective. People are reading these.

Neal that is a great letter.  I love receiving letters like that!

05/28/2008 08:26 AM by Jeremy Blanton- Myrtle Beach Real Estate (Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate)

Starting out in the business, I didn't have any testimonials for the longest time.  Now, it seems like they are coming in much more often!  I credit the rain for some of this improvement in my services...learning from everyone here has been a boon to my business.  Great job, Neal!

Neal- Great two posts! Excellent story. The testimonial letter is a very powerful tool that allows us to show others that we are indeed as good as we tell them we are.

Best,

Scott

Neal - Yup, that's the lifeblood amigo.  I'm sure you have a lot of these and I think we all need to share a bit more.  I think I may do the same thing here soon.

Thanks for all the comments. Since I wrote this today...I was in my office and a person delivered a gift basket of cookies and it was for me from my client...how's that!

Neal I have kept letters that I have gotten, but I do not have them in a portfolio, so thanks for the idea.

Neal:  Personal recommendations are a must.  I post all of mine on my website, and here on Active Rain.

05/28/2008 10:19 PM by Chris Ann Cleland, GRI (Long & Foster)

Hi Neal! I love all my testimonials and put them everywhere. Here on my profile, in my blogs, the local homes magazine and my website. I always include a picture too. My clients are my best advertisment.

05/28/2008 10:24 PM by Lizette Fitzpatrick, Lexington KY Real Estate (Central Kentucky - Prudential Don Foster - Richmond KY)

Neal, you could brag all day long but it would never have the same impact as a testimonial from one of your clients!  I was fortunate to receive an amazing one this week where my client really went above in beyond in recommending me to another potential client.  I called him afterwards and asked whether he wanted direct deposit or I should send a check!

05/29/2008 06:05 AM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Neal, the book of testimonial letters would be a great differentiator on a listing appointment. As you gather them keep them in a binder. Great tip!

Neal with an "a":  I agree, referals, recommendations, testimonials are all extremely powerful when it comes to growing your business.  I believe people feel a sense of trust in you when they know others have used your services and are happy with the results. Great post, thanks.

05/29/2008 11:38 AM by Melody Young - Auto Broker-Milestone Motoring (Milestone Motoring - Auto Broker/Dealer)

I agree - After each sale I now encourage my buyers and sellers to write a quick note regarding their experience w/me and I try to take pictures prior to the closing.  There is nothing better than a satisfied client.

Neal, I love it when clients are kind enough to write a nice testimonial for you...and yours was terrific!  Sounds as if you have clients for life.

Wow..I thought I answered all of you...well all I can say is the other day she sent me a large gift basket full of cookies...crazy how the clients send me gifts...I should be sending them:)

Thanks Sally

Robert,

Thanks for coming by to read it...wishing you continued success as well.

Margaret,

My title was inspired by yours...just a little different. Don't think I didn't read your most viewed post way back to 2006.

06/02/2008 07:23 AM by Neal Bloom-Realtor ® Assoc.-CRS-Weston FL (RE/MAX Premier Associates)

Neal- Good job, sounds like a wonderful experience.  That being said, not so long ago I read about  a template site that had everyone using the same testimonial letters......all from the same couples. What an embarrasement to everyone, including those of us that didn't fake anything.  Once again the3 behavior of a few can affect many :)

06/03/2008 12:24 PM by Kathy McGraw ~ Calif Broker (CELLing Realty)

Kathy,

Yes it wa. I don't know about all the rest but these are actual referals. why someone would steal another is beyond me.

06/03/2008 02:15 PM by Neal Bloom-Realtor ® Assoc.-CRS-Weston FL (RE/MAX Premier Associates)

Neal, That's what it's all about, providing that kind of service.  You did an excellent job and it's great that they told you and the rest of the world SO.

06/04/2008 07:37 AM by Judi Barrett (Integrity Real Estate Services)

Judi,

That's for sure...I just was told by a few of my associates that they were reading my blogs and cried when they read this.
