Going into Real Estate was a big, life changing and, yes, a scary decision for me. While most of population of the United States seem to think it is an easy way to make a big money, many people who have tried it, received a lesson of their lifetime. With dropout rates as high as the
y are, why the perception of the general public still haven't changed? May be because of our industry survivors, people who overcame outer and inner obstacles to stay and truly make a difference? May be because of those successful people who make it seem so easy! But is it? What does it take to succeed in real estate?
Why people, who get in this business just for opportunity to make big money, almost never succeed?

When I got my real estate license, I was overwhelmed with all the things I needed to learn, all the skills I needed to acquire. Besides, since English is not my native language, I had a whole new vocabulary to learn. Just the way real estate transactions are handled here was a whole new world to me. Perfect opportunity for excuses and giving up altogether. However I wanted to see if I can do it? Can I be the person I have to become to be successful at this? I understood that this is not just about business, it's all about me. Where are my limits, can I raise them?
And it has been a truly amazing and never ending journey, so scary and exciting, so depleting and rewarding. There is really no school out there to prepare you for this.
You are the Michelangelo that you are sculpting!
Anthony Robbins teaches that people often sabotage their own success. We have inside something like a success "thermostat". When we get too much of pain, we get motivated to do something to change it. For example, procrastinating and leaving household projects unfinished unti
l a big get-together. Pain associated with the possibility that your friends might think you are a big slob, motivates you to get things finally done. The same is true with opposite. When we succeed, unknowingly, we tend to sabotage our own efforts in order to return to the previous, more comfortable level. Until the moment, when you truly accept and believe that you deserve better, that you ARE better, there won't be any long lasting changes or success in your life.
Creating the business and life that you truly want.
Have you noticed that business just flows to you when you get ready to leave on vacation? Or is it just me? Is it always just a coincidence?

According to "the Secret" (DVD & book), we all are just an energy fields operating in a larger field. Your thoughts and state of mind give out vibrations, and everything else around respond to that vibration in exactly the same tune. You are literally attracting what you are thinking and feeling about. When you give out good vibrations, you get good things happen to you. When you give out negative vibrations, you attract more negative circumstances.
ActiveRain; An Addiction to Scoring Points or a Place to Grow?
Despite being several years in real estate, I still feel like I'm just beginning this great self evolving journey. So many things to learn, so many great people to meet! I am proud to be part of this wonderful industry, witch is absolute leader of pushing people to buy and listed tons of so calling "self-help" tapes. But at least we know that only our mind is our limit.

Just now I am starting to see the true essence of ActiveRain. So many people with similar goals and challenges have got together to share and seek more knowledge. Yes, I guess it is nice to be rewarded with these virtual points, but how truly wonderful it is to feel connected with people you've never met before!
I would like to wish you all good luck, but now I know there is no such a thing. You get lucky, when preparation meets opportunity!
(Yeah, another succesful open house has come to and end :))
