So right on target with your thoughts here. "Will they take less" is a variant of the "Is it Negotiable" question that we hear often, although in our sellers' market we often hear - do I have to go over asking or will full price be enough?

Sellers, and agents, SHOULD be pleased to have an offer, even it's it's not what they hoped for. You can't negotiate without something to talk about.

Excellent points Margaret! I also add that the buyer could just be testing the water with them. They may very well be willing to pay full price! 💰

This blog is short and to the point--and true!  There are usually always negotiations of some sort--trying to make both parties happy with the outcome is a successful negotiation!

Sometimes it seems like it's the first question!  I always say submit an offer, it's our job to facilitate the negotiation from that point.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  If it doesn't work it wasn't meant to be.  Thanks for the post, have a great day.

Always worth it to try.  The worst answer is no after all.  

I have always said that no offer is an insult.. when an offer is made, that's a complement..someone wants to buy  your home.
