There have been moments for many of us in this world of technology, that we have used our emotion to create an e mail or blog and it really should just wait.

It can wait folks.

Give it a few hours, maybe even a 24 hour period.  If you are extremely upset about someone or something, it might be best to either cool down and NOT PUSH Send or if time is critical, let someone else review it.

I was thinking how different things are today when you can shoot an e mail off to someone and then sit back and think...oh no, what have I done?

If time is extremely important and you can't wait 24 hours, at least ask someone else to review your copy.  They might understand how you feel, but be better to advise about content.

Sometimes you just need to sit on it and "Don't Push Send."

Hope you enjoy Carrier Newcomer as much as I do.

Excellent advise!  The other thing to remember is that what you write now a days is going to be around for a long time, so best be careful!

Bob, so right.  We have to be careful the internet is here to stay.

Karen, I have trouble NOT opening my mouth. What makes controlling a finger any easier?

Valuable Lesson and good music! I like the shot of the older people listening - not sure they "get it" looks on their faces :)

I remember when the lesson was, "just don't mail it until the next day"  Now it's "Don't push Send".

Karen, image that a song written about shooting off emails? She was good. Yes, best to wait before firing one off and make sure your tone is good, hard to do in an email but you can always smile :) or laugh out loud, LOL so they know you are kidding.

Karen - I wish I would have read this post a few days ago.  I sent off a hasty, testy email this week that I regretted 10 seconds after I sent it and then had to spend time doing damage control.

I need to remember to wait a while as you suggest.
