WATERFORD, LOUDOUN COUNTY VIRGINIA, A COUNTRYSIDE OF LASTING HISTORIC BEAUTY

WATERFORD, HOME OF HISTORIC BEAUTY, LOVELY ESTATES, NEW HOME COMMUNITIES ON ACREAGE, GENTLEMEN FARMERS AND A FEW "FIXER UPPERS".

A DRIVING TOUR OF WATERFORD, VIRGINIA 20197.  A HISTORIC VILLAGE IN LOUDOUN COUNTY, JUST 10 MINUTES FROM LEESBURG.

Today, I drove through the lovely community of Waterford.  This is a small area between Lovettsville and Leesburg, Virginia.  An area of perpetual beauty no matter what the weather or time of year.  Just the act of driving through the area gives one a calm and relaxation that comes with this lovely countryside.

The town of Waterford is historical, founded in 1733 by a Pennsylvania Quaker family, the town is much as it was in the 16th Century with dedicated caretaker owners who know that preserving the history of this area will redound to themselves, their families and the citizens of Loudoun County and Virginia for many years to come.  We are all indebted to the individuals and families who spend the time and resources to preserve these homes and public buildings for all.

The Town of Waterford offers the historic charm of the 16th Century settlements in Loudoun County.  In the 21st Century, homes constructed in Waterford are luxurious and spacious.  Most new homes in Waterford are constructed on 3 to 10 acre lots and offer a spectacular view of the Catoctin Mountain Range.

Lenn ~ I can't imagine a 250 year old home! Is there a benefit to being an aged home, as in historical? The homes they build now will never survive that long!  Interesting post as usual!

I have lived in the west most of my life and can't even imagine a 250 year old home.  The homes that are 100 years old here are old farmhouses and most aren't fit to live in.

Wonderful write-up and beautiful photos. You always takes such nice house pics (no one can complain about the quality of YOUR MLS photos!). The countryside in that area is gorgeous - brings back memories of living/working in New England (and growing up outside Philadelphia).

Lenn - another beautifully written local post!  I really enjoy your local posts, they paint such lovely pictures of your areas.  And your pictures always are so complimentary to your posts.

We have homes here in my areas that date back as early as the 1600's, and they are all livable, and most have been lovingly restored and beautifully cared for over the years.
