Attention beach lovers! Did you know that Maui happens to be home to two of the best beach towns to live in all of the United States? According to a recent study published by Wallethub.com, Lahaina ranked number 1 as the best beach town to live in whereas nearby Kihei along Maui’s south side won the number 8 spot.
The online financial website recently conducted the study by comparing 205 cities across the USA using 58 key indicators of livability. The study split the towns into two categories, either towns by oceans or lakes, and then judged them across a range of data sets. Lahaina scored the number one spot with 64.90 points. Our West Maui town was ranked number 4 in affordability, scored a 10 in the quality of life rank, and also was ranked number two in lowest median annual property taxes (Wailuku has the lowest median annual property taxes overall at 0.16 percent). In second place overall for the best beach town to live in is Naples Florida, and in third place is Sarasota Florida.
