Last evening, The El Dorado Hills Community Services District and the local Chamber of Commerce, hosted a delightful Saturday Night in The Park event. In addition to many activity booths, and a fun filled Kids Area, they featured one of my favorite Summer Concert Series bands, “Island of Black and White.” My daughter, granddaughter, and 5 other of our family and friends claimed a spot on the lawn, and rolled up a cooler packed with picnic goodies, and drinks. It was a very large crowd last evening, in the thousands. Once the sun found itself lower on the horizon, temps dipped from the midday 90s, to a comfortable degree. It was nice to just veg out in a lawn chair under the trees, listen to great music, watch kids play and dogs frolic, as some folks danced!
In addition to the wonderful Sangria my daughter brought along, was an amazing bottle of New Clairvaux Barbera brought by another family member. It went really well with the beef and cheese roll-ups, chips and dips, etc. The New Clairvaux vineyards and winery are tended by the monks residing at the Abbey of New Clairvaux at Vina, California.
