my business sliding into the fourth quarter is also about gearing up for the sprint at the beginning of the year. My customers are businesses and they typically work on their budget at this time of the year. Why would they put more money into the budget for training and development? They see a need and they see a ROI. I focus on business owners want and needs during the fourth quarter when the decisions are being made.
October, I will have a number of webinars scheduled. Invitations are sent out for one hour webinar. Topics will include “The Real Leadership Challenge – Getting and Maintaining Peak Performance”, “Improving communication in your organization through D.I.S.C”, and using Behavior Based Interviewing to Select the Best Candidate.” Participants will receive free personalized assessment test with follow up.
November and Thanksgiving is perfect for sending out my holiday cards. Rather than sending them in December when everyone else does it I make mine stand out. I have also tried New Years cards but I think this work better because it is better to be ahead.
December is a time of recap and review for businesses. It is all about getting ready for year end. I will conduct these for my clients. I also welcome them to invite their friends. I always enjoy this and so do the participants. I also hand out specialized goal planning sheets to be used in the process. After this participants realize how many opportunities they can take in the new year.
This educational marketing keeps business owners in the right frame of mind when planning their training and development. I should also add that I send out a newsletter on the first of each month and October, November, and December have these themes.
