Why I Love New Construction!!!
Several years ago my husband and I purchased our first new construction home and I loved every moment of the experience; from selecting the lot to selecting colors of carpeting. I was even influenced by the name of the street - Sedona Drive. It just sounded magical to me and I could envision years of happiness in that home.
That passion has never waned, so I became a new construction Realtor and to this day, after 15 years in the industry, I continue to love going to my job everyday. Sure we all have moments when the lender does not send the Conditional Loan Approval letter, which is required in the contract, or the Construction Team notifies you of a delayed closing but the majority of my time is spent helping/guiding buyers on their wonderful journey.
Many Realtors have said to me that there is no way they can give up their freedom working in an office 9:00 -5:00 at the whim of a capricious Developer/Builder or have their freedom curtailed by a demanding boss however I beg to differ.
Yes, I am scheduled to be onsite 5 days a week from 10:00 - 6:00, in the summer, with shorter working days in the winter. But this is my storefront and I get out of it exactly what I am willing to put into it, financially and emotionally. And think about this, when I am out of the office, on my two days off, I am incommunicado. Buyers do not have my cell phone number and unless it is really urgent, like the community is in on fire, most problems will wait until I return.
Great Sales Consultants are masters of their craft - instead of showing buyers multiple homes, I have three models available and if my home is a good fit, meaning it meets most of a buyers criteria, it is my responsibility to assist the potential homeowner with a buying decision.
Each new community gives me the opportunity to learn all about a new area of the Inland Empire but each community has a definite closing date and I am ready for the next adventure. So I am able to enjoy a gypsy lifestyle as new homes will always be in demand and builders will always build new communities.
Yes....I Love New Construction!!!
