My wife and I have been involved with a small group that get together
to help those in need.
Next Saturday we are helping out a family that has fallen on some bad luck.
Illness that will take some time to heal has taken down the husband.
The husband needs 4-6 months for proper healing.
The family heats with wood, the husband has been sidelined for much of the summer
fighting his illness.
So the plan:
8 people cutting and splitting wood. (The live on wooded acreage so it is close)
6 -7 people will get a good start on fall yard work. (We will return in the middle of October to finish)
Many ladies are Making meals that can be put into the freezer and heated up later.
Cleaning house, not that it is dirty, they are just doing a good fall cleaning.
The wife works full time and over time and it is hard to keep up. 2 kids under the age of 10.
They do try but it is limited in what they can do.
This is one of our longest commitments as it will stretch into the late winter.
Ther are some to shovel the walks and clean the drive of snow when needed.
Why so much help for one family. This family has helped many of the group over the year's.
They paid it forward for years and now it is coming back to them...
