I suggest Galveston. Whether you want to shop, eat, swim at the beach or just see the sights, Galveston has it all. We recently went to spend the day at the beach. When you go to the beach you can't leave without building a sandcastle so of course my nieces and nephew just had to build an amazing one, outdoing themselves every year.  To all who wish to go and have never been I would like to give you a piece of advice.

Never Feed The Birds!

This is one of my nephews favorite things to do...attracting the birds to us, then running away...!

7 Comments on Galveston-A Fun Place To Spend The Day!

Cindy,

Being raised in Texas I can't say that I have ever been to Galveston.  It looks like a fun place to visit.  The sandcastle is awesome.

Galveston is a cool town and we have boarded several Caribean cruises from the port there in years past!

great sandcastle! I wish Galveston water was more "respected" so they wouldn't polute it so much. It would make me much more likely to take my kids there. That goes for all of the water in this country though. It seems like you can't go anywhere now without signs saying the mercury content or the bacterial content of the water is high. It looks like you all had a good time. I have yet to visit Moody Gardens. Maybe this summer.....

As long as the day in Galveston ends with Dinner at Gaido's I am DEFINITELY there! :)

What a great sand castle.  And a great way to start the summer by the water.  Love it.  Lu

Cindy, I love to go spend the day in Galveston.  We have not done that in ages.  I remember eating at a restaurant over the water and watching the birds steal the sugar packets.

Don-Thanks, they had fun building it.

Steve-It has changed over the years, but it's nice around "The Strand".

Cheri-Thanks, Moody Gardens is really nice, lots to do there.

Steve-I think I ate there once and it was packed. I need to go again though.

Lu-They make the pilmgrimage every year for the beach and the sand castle.

Marchel-I know, there such grubbers, not shy at all.
