San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico, a wonderful place for quiet beaches, fishing, scuba, and sailing.

A recent trip to the Hotel Fiesta Royal in San Carlos in Sonora Mexico was super relaxing. Located about 15 miles from the Guymas airport, or about 5.5 hrs. from Nogales by car down 15, this quiet little town has been a getaway for Americans for years. There are lots of retirees who have chosen to live there permenantly. Wonderful marina, great sport fishing, scuba, and sailing destination. Lots of great restaurants. You can walk from the hotel in to town. In the morning (early) you can walk the beaches along side the dolphins as they swim up and down the coast on their morning feed. This is not a party town, but not to say you can't find some night time entertainment. It is also not a big surf area, at least in May! Great spot to getaway!
